Treta Pride Super Turbo – Nov 1-2

Treta Pride Super Turbo

Brazilian’s main fighting game event is back. Bigger than ever, newer than ever, but also classic as ever, since it will now feature arcade Super Street Fighter II X/Turbo as a main game, instead of the previous HDR classic mode from previous majors in the country.

The platform will be 1) CPS-2 cabinet with UD converters and 2) a UD-CPS2 with a CRT TV, so players can use standard arcade parts on the cabinet or just use their USB joysticks or pads.

The competition will include previous champions Born2SPD and deathgun, and also fierce opponents such as Wall-Garants, Earqueman, Belotadentro, wolverine, and many others.

Comentary will be provided in Portuguese by oldschool-BR and others, under a dedicated stream station.

Second SSF2T Mexican Gathering – Nov 15-18

Kyouya has announced that the Second Mexican Super Turbo gathering will take place November 15th through November 18th and will feature many of the well known top GGPO players from Mexico (DJFrijoles, yito2k, Kyouya, smiley (._.), Jarek04, and more).

Among the events planned are a Team Battle tournament, Star Cup Tournament, First to Ten matches, some money matches and a big double elimination tournament.  The event is planned to be streamed every day.
 
Here is what Kyouya had to say regarding the event:
 
“This past year our ST community had an experiment, we’re going to have a gathering and let’s see what happens”, that time we did it just for fun, and guess what happened? everyone showed up, no exceptions. We were all surprised to see everyone gathered, enjoying drinking, having fun, laughing and above all, playing SSF2T!
 
Our goal was to see how well people responded to it and to meet each other mainly. Our goal this time is to make the gathering and the community BIGGER and BETTER.”

This cool bit of news was passed along to us from nunoelectric from the group Fighters4ever.
 
“We in Venezuela are gonna held the 1st National Super Turbo League, that began in Dec 2012 and will end with the finals (offline) in the PLC Showdown # 3 event, that will be in June 22th!.  With a prize of 1.000 bsf in cash! (something unprecedented for this game).

Tokido wins the ST (HDR Classic) Brazil Qualifier for the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Tournament. Tokido joins Laugh, Damdai and AfroLegends in the finals to be held on December 8th in San Francisco.
