Box Arena & Northwest Majors ToL qualifiers are this weekend!

A reminder that the Box Arena TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS qualifier is this Saturday at 2PM PST at Frubble.

The qualifiers will be $20 to enter and is standard ST tournament format:

Double elmination
3 out of 5 games.
Akuma is banned.

A reminder that the Northwest Majors will be the site of the Pacific Northwest TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS qualifier to be held on June 2nd. The top 8 will be streamed on Sunday 12:30PM PST. at http://www.twitch.tv/teamkhaos

US invite #2 for TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS – AfroCole!

Announcing Jason “AfroCole” Cole as the second US Invite for TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS. AfroCole is a legendary name in the ST world, dating back to the mid 1990s. He won back to back ST championships in 2001 and 2002 at B5 and EVO 2002. He also has multiple top eight finishes at B4, EVO 2005 and last year’s EVO Casino Cup. Cole has also placed and won at many majors around the country over the years.

Since Alex Valle and DGV, the 1st and 2nd place finishers, have already qualified, the qualifier went to Hiro, who finished in 3rd place.

UFGT8 ToL Qualifier is this weekend

A reminder that the UFGT TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS qualifier is this weekend!

Pools will start at 3PM on Friday and will start up again on Saturday at 10AM. Finals will take place at 6PM.

It’s not stated on the UFGT website but these times should be Central Standard Time.

Note: Normal registration is now closed. Emergency Registration ($50) At the event during Emergency Registration Hours only. Only tournaments that have available byes will allow emergency registrants to enter, and only before a tournament?s first pools start, as the brackets will already be made at this time. You cannot and will not be regionally or skill seeded if you are an emergency registrant. Avoid this option at all costs.

We are happy to announce the first US invite for TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS! Jason “Shirts” de Haras!

Shirts is a long time veteran ST player and has a 3rd place and 7th place finish at EVO in 2002 and 2008 respectively. He also placed 4th at B4 Championships back in 2000 and qualified for SBO in 2003.

Northwest Majors 4 update: Games, Sponsors, Venue

Lynnwood, Washington ? April 19th 2012 ?Northwest Majors 4 is set for June 2nd and 3rd 2012 at Highline Community College in the Student Union Building. More then 400 professional and semi-professional fighting game enthusiasts are scheduled to come to Seattle for this event.

As a Road to EVO event, top players at Northwest Majors 4 will garner seeding points toward EVO2012, in Las Vegas on July 6th ? 8th 2012. The game line up for Northwest Majors 4 will be based around the EVO2012 line up of: Street Fighter 4 Arcade Ed 2012, Street Fighter x Tekken, Mortal Kombat 9, King of Fighters XIII, Soul Caliber V, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and Super Street Fighter II Turbo.

Season’s Beatings: Summer Slam TOL Qualifier

Cinco de Mayo is going to be blessed with some serious ST action!
ST Revival members Ghaleon and Nomrah will be hosting their flagship, seasonal tournament series, Season�s Beatings (Summer Slam), in Columbus, Ohio, at the famous MoMo2 venue this upcoming weekend! There will be two qualifiers with a $20 entry fee for each, both will be double-elimination, 3/5 matches, 4/7 Grand Finals, and it will be run on a Japanese Arcade Cabinet (Head-to-Head) and a Supergun setup.

Box Arena Joins as a TOL Qualifier!

We are happy to announce that The Box Arena will be joining as a TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS qualifier!

When we expanded the finals to 32 back in February, we had made unannounced plans to run a qualifier at Team Madcatz Championships in San Diego, which was scheduled to take place last weekend. After the announcement last week that TMC would be postponed until after EVO, we were approached by Box Arena to move the qualifier to their location at Frubble. Frank Fresh, the director at Box Arena is an avid ST fan and Box Arena became the perfect choice to replace TMC, as Frank wants to be a part of the ST revival, they are the premiere fighting game group in San Diego and we get to keep the qualifier in SoCal, as originally planned.

The Box Arena qualifier will take place on Saturday, June 2 at 2PM. The qualifiers will be $20 to enter and is standard ST tournament format:

Double elmination
3 out of 5 games.
Akuma is banned.
